Message from the CEO

Welcome to another Newsletter.

Over the coming weeks, myself and the senior management team will be undertaking a detailed review of our schedule of fees.

It is never easy undertaking pricing reviews and I ask for your understanding, I pride myself on being as transparent with you all on such important matters effecting both yourselves and Everglow.

As many of our long-term clients are aware – April is our annual pricing review and are we proud that we have been able to keep any increase to either nil or CPI for the past six (6) years.

Something completely unique to Everglow in our sector.

As a consequence of the Government’s changes to how providers are to be paid, organisations are now needing to adopt a more private sector commercial business model. This is regardless of any Not for Profit status many like ourselves hold.

Thankfully, here at Everglow we started that journey some four (4) years ago whilst keeping any increases as low as possible for you.

Whilst you will see modest changes to our fees and its structure come April, all clients will see minimal impact on your packages. Another area of concern that will need to be addressed as these government mandated funding changes impact, is that of your unspent funds balances. Across our Home Care Package clients, the average amount being held by Everglow is $8,500 per client. It needs to be remembered that the Government assigned Package level is based on your assessed care needs.

This is an area Everglow will be working with you to address moving forward before the September change whereby the Government will commence managing and have visibility of your unspent funds balance.

These changes are what I have been advising all clients of over the past two years, so as not to come as a surprise to you.

It is our policy to provide the highest standard of care to you, so it is important that you are aware of these changes.

Remember, Everglow will do everything practical to guide and help you to share in our mutual successes.

I provide you my commitment that Everglow will continue to:

· Only Charge modest fees for our services (benchmarked against provider pricing in MyAgedCare)   and outlined in the Act.

· Not charge entry fees.

· Not change monthly administration fees.

· Not impose exit fees.

As always, I welcome any feedback from you in relation to your services or any opportunities for improvement.

Until next month, stay safe.

Wayne

Baked Feta Pasta

4 Serves  l  5 Minutes Prep  l   10 Minutes Cook

Ingredients

  • 2 pints cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt plus more to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 8-ounce block feta
  • 8 ounces short pasta like penne, rigatoni, fusilli, cavatappi
  • 2 cloves garlic pressed or minced
  • 2-4 tablespoons fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • olive oil extra, for finishing

Direction

  • Preheat oven to 400 Fahrenheit
  • Ina medium bowl, toss the whole cherry tomatoes with olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and lots of black pepper until well coated. Pour mixture into baking dish. Place bock of feta in center of tomatoes and season with more balck pepper.
  • Bake until tomatoes have burst and feta has softened, approximately 30 minutes. Continue to cook until tomatoes and feta are golden brown, approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, boil a large pot of generously salted water over high heat. Add pasta and cook until al dente, approximately 13 minutes. Set aside 1/2 cup of cooking water, then drain all remaining water.
  • As soon as tomatoes and feta come out of oven, stir in the garlic. Use back of the spoon to smash tomatoes and feta into a smooth and creamy sauce. If some of the oil doesn't combine completely that's fine.
  • Toss in pasta and half of basil until evenly coated. Mix in pasta water 2 tablespoons at a time, to help the mixture become a true sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Top with remaining basil. Serve with additional top-quality olive oil.

Notes:

  • Make it low carb/keto: Most of the carbs in this recipe come from the pasta. Use palmini pasta, shirataki noodles, or veggie noodles in place of the traditional short pasta. A zero-carb pasta substitute will knock this down to around 10g net carbs per serving.
  • Make it Dairy-Free/ Vegan: Use a dairy free feta, ricotta or mozzarella.
  • Make it Gluten Free: Use a gluten-free pasta
