Research Update

Good afternoon,

Linked below is the State Shipments for November 2018.

Here are a few key findings:

  • Total beer shipment volume decreased by 5% during November 2018, on the same number of selling days compared to November 2017.
  • November’s performance brings the year-to-date beer shipment total to minus 1.3%.
  • Unfavorable weather with below-average temperatures and unusually heavy precipitation east of the Rocky Mountains contributed to November’s volume decline.
  • In general, November’s weather was more favorable in Western states, which is reflected in those states’ shipment trends for the month.
