The campaign will include advertisements at bus shelters, in the Globe and Mail newspaper, radio, digital and social media ads, and a landing page attached to the school’s website. Advertisements will encourage viewers and listeners to learn more about CHS, let them know about financial assistance available for girls entering grade 8 and the opportunity to attend our open houses in November.

ICT Students Step Into World of Virtual Reality
Senior School students in ICT classes are currently concentrating on the topics of Virtual Reality (VR) and 3D environments. They are using a tool called C3D to create their virtual environments to allow them to integrate 3D models from TinkerCAD and SketchUp, as well as import sounds to create an immersive world. The students then transfer their creations to a mobile device that is then inserted into a set of VR goggles, which allows them to step into the world they just created.

Varsity Volleyball Team Welcomes New Coach
With the start of the Fall athletics season underway, the varsity volleyball team welcomes new head coach Christian Redmann. Christian was a professional beach volleyball player who competed for Canada on the World Tour for 15 years. Not only has he won titles in both the national and international stage, Christian has also been coaching youth volleyball for 15 years and has led many of those teams to championship titles. He is currently the head coach of the top Canadian men’s beach volleyball team, 2016 Rio Olympian Ben Saxton and Grant O’Gorman, and is the founder of the Vancouver Volleyball League, a club that gives access to kids of all skill levels to play volleyball. Welcome to the Falcons' nest!

CHS Parents' Auxiliary

Welcome Back! Thank you to the organizers and volunteers who helped stage the Welcome Back BBQ. Everyone enjoyed the warm welcome with delicious food, ice cream, and catching up with friends.

As well, a sincere thank you to all those who participated in our annual backpack drive. Thanks to your efforts, students in need in the Vancouver area will start the year off with a full complement of school supplies. These two events are an example of the many ways the PA helps enrich and engage our school community. I look forward to seeing you all throughout the year.

Winter Bazaar – Blitz Days
Hard to believe, but we are only nine weeks away from the Crofton House Winter Bazaar, where we open our doors and welcome thousands of visitors to our campus for a day of fun and festivities. This parent-organized and cherished tradition has something for everyone: baking, one-of-a-kind crafts, games for the kids, food trucks, and bargains galore at our resale booths. And once again, all proceeds from this event will be donated to KidSafe Project, a local charity providing essential services and programs during school breaks for over 450 vulnerable children in the Vancouver area.

Start collecting your gently used donations now for our first week of Blitz Days and bring them to the Balaclava St. entrance on October 1 and 3 between 8:00 am – 9:30 am. There will be more dates to follow. Click here for more information about the Winter Bazaar and how you can be a part of it.
