Hi there!

Today is the day. It's finally election day in the US. I know, I know – we're all tired of hearing about it. Whatever happens in the next 24 hours, I'm just happy that this dehumanising, demotivating reality show is finally coming to a finale. Well, at least season 1.

I was going to write this long post about the kind of soul-searching this whole election and the accompanying media frenzy has triggered on my end. But right now I feel too exhausted to even think about it properly, not to mention putting it into words that make any sense to you.

I just hope that everyone learns something from this bastard of an election. At the very least, it taught me that a lot of my anxieties can be attributed to the three (now removed) news apps on my phone. So long.

This Weekʼs Line-Up

Save the MagSafe!
01

The new Macbook Pro is hardly shipping and in typical Kickstarter fashion we have solutions for our yet-to-experience problems: Snapnator recreates the MagSafe experience and makes it available to more than just the Apple laptop.

Beautiful note-taking
02

I've been following Bear come out of private beta, but I haven't had a chance to take it for a test drive. Now available to everyone, it looks like a beautiful alternative to Simplenote.

Desktop accessories made from concrete
03

There is something about the rawness of concrete that makes it a fascinating material to have on your desk – especially for screen-junkies like us that barely get to have a tangible experience throughout their day.

Make scheduling a breeze
04

Several Offscreen contributors have used Calendly to organise a time to chat with me via Skype. I really enjoyed its simplicity.

A charging cable manager
05

The ECLIPSE by Native Union is essentially a cable spool hiding three charging cables in a lovely wooden, round case – tap to slide open. Looks like it functions as a night light too. (Currently on Kickstarter.)

Bullet-proof HTML emails
06

A friend of mine introduced me to Mail Bakery the other week. The service takes your designs and turns them into reliable, responsive HTML email templates. No more messing around with ’90s-style HTML code. Again, I haven't tested the service myself, but it's a great idea that removes much of the pain involved in creating custom email templates.
