2nd Grade eNews

We love September! It has been another terrific week!

• Bible - We are continuing a study on Moses.  For the next two weeks, we will be memorizing the Ten Commandments from the King James version of the Bible. The reason we memorize from this version is because this is the one that is usually displayed in public settings. On Friday, the students will need to know the Commandments 1-5, and the next Friday, they will say all of the Commandments. A helpful worksheet is coming home today in their Saints’ Folder to help you work with your child on these. 
• Reading - Our story will be “Teacher’s Pets” this week in reading. We will continue to work on Character.
• Spelling - We will continue working on the vowel consonant e skill
• Grammar - Nouns
• Math - Subtraction families 6, 7, and 8, ½ of a group, fahrenheit and celsius, and bar graphs

• Septmeber 9 - Students may bring a $1 or more donation for the Teacher Compassion Fund and wear spirit dress
• September 11 - Elementary Pictures (regular dress code)
• September 13 - Dads and Donuts (7:00 am in the cafeteria) Signing Day (following Dads and Donuts) 
• September 27 - Grandparents’ Day Program @ 9:00 a.m. with an Early Dismissal following the program - No Extended Care
• October 3rd - Cookie Dough Pick Up

On Tuesday and Friday mornings, students can buy Chick-fil-a chicken biscuits before school from 7:30-8:00 a.m. The cost is $3.00 per biscuit.
