Winter 2019 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Revitalizing historic New England churches is a team effort between Overseed, denominational leaders, pastor-coaches, and replant pastors.  At Overseed, we are committed to connecting, building, and networking with others engaged in this crucial ministry.  Thanks for your prayers and gifts which allow us to continue to serve New England revitalization pastors and churches.

For the Overseed Team,

Dr. Jim Harrell

Ministry Updates

Rebuilding Bridges

Pastor Don McKinnon understands that building bridges to the community takes tactical patience.

He’s a replanter. A pastor who intentionally replants the seeds of the Gospel in a place where it once flourished.

A year and a half ago, Don became the pastor of Legacy Church at First Baptist Church in Sutton, the fourth oldest Baptist church in Massachusetts. When he arrived, there were twelve church members. Together, they serve their community by sharing the love of Christ in word and action.

The church had a history of opening their building to the community, but in the recent past that cooperation had ceased and some neighbors had developed negative feelings toward the church. READ MORE >>.

Concord Area Cohort

What happens when three pastors (who don't know each other, yet) start praying for their region of New Hampshire?

Connections start to be made. Each pastor wants to encourage other ministry leaders to persevere and see thriving gospel-centered churches across the state. Overseed was blessed to connect with these three pastors who enthusaistically joined our team of coaches and are now sharing leadership of a new pastor cohort focused on revitalizing churches. Together, we've reached across demoninational lines to invite other pastors to gather monthly for encouragement, learning, and prayer as we envision revitalizaion in churches and communities from Candia to Tilton and beyond.

If you are a NE pastor looking for connection with other revitalization pastors, please contact Jim Harrell 978-417-9213 or jim@overseed.org to learn more.

2018 Fall Hub Pastor Conference

Overseed held its third annual Hub Pastor conference.  Conversations were centered on best practices for coaching revitalization / replant pastors and leading monthly cohorts.  Overseed is blessed to have such high caliber pastors coaching for us and investing in the next generation of pastors.
