ASTPHND Develops Collaboration Resources for Members

Effective Collaboration is a new web page on the Association of State and Territorial Public Health Nutrition Directors’ website designed to help members strengthen their ability to lead and participate in collaborative projects. The web page includes an ASTPHND Collaboration Primer, background information, skill development resources, tools and examples of how some members successfully carried out effective collaborations.

The newly-released ASTPHND Collaboration Primer provides an overview of collaboration principles, lists factors that affect successful collaboration, and summarizes ASTPHND’s recent experiences in this area. It also includes a checklist designed to assist users in developing an effective collaborative process.

For additional information or questions about these resources, please contact Helene Kent, ASTPHND Consultant.

Founded in 1952, ASTPHND is a non-profit membership organization that provides state and national leadership on food and nutrition issues, programs and services aimed at improving the health of our population. ASTPHND’s membership is comprised of over 250 public health nutritionists located throughout all 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. As we celebrate over 60 years of service, our vision is to create new environmental norms where healthy eating and active living are the easy and natural choices for all Americans.
