In 14 days we will be cupping, listening, learning and having fun in Oslo. We hope you are one of the lucky ones who will join us.

WHAT TO BRING TO OSLO

September-weather in Oslo can be tricky: it might be sunny and warm, or it might be rainy and chilly. Therefore please bring warm clothes and a rain coat, but don't forget the sun screen either.

Remember your camera, because Oslo is a beautiful city (especially when the weather is nice). Fingers crossed ...

WEDNESDAY WELCOME

NBC attendees meet and greet in Oslo Wednesday evening on the 4th of September between 19-22.

The evening will be hosted by Espresso Spesialisten at their location at Tromsøgata 5 b, 0565 Oslo (10 min walk from Mathallen/PS hotel).

VEGETARIAN DIET

If you are vegetarian we will do our best to serve an interesting diet for you. But we need to know that you ARE a vegetarian.

If you need veggetarian diet during NBC please email to bbrend@nordicbaristacup.com. We need to know before September 2nd in order to guarantee availability.

Unfortunately we can not provide vegan diet for Nordic Barista Cup.

MC's AND MEDIA

Again this year we have the 2 (in)famous micropone controllers or masters of ceremony: David Latourell and Jay Lijewski.

As always we will opload videos of the lecturers from event. Brian Jones and Partick Rolf handling the video content. The lectures will be uploaded to YouTube.

2013 BAZAAR

The NBC bazaar is happening again this year. Off course the (in)famous WBC 2006 Goat trophy is on sale again along with other products, donated by our sponsors and friends.

You can make a bid for a Marco BRU brewer, Aerobie Sprint rings, Tim Wendelboe Coffee book, Hario Sommelier (pictured) and loads of other interesting goods.

2013 FIELD TRIP 12.-19. OCTOBER

You can join the winning team on the field trip to Brazil in October. We will visit farms, processing plants, host barista jams, share knowledge, cup coffees, learn about Brazil as a producing country and have fun. 

The cost is 1000€ for a one week field trip. The price includes accomodation, internal transport and meals. Email bbrend@nordicbaristacup.com if you want to join us.

BE A PART OF THE GRINDING PROJECT

At NBC you can be a part of the NBC/SCAE Gold Cup Grinding Research. The aim  is to reveal whether the grinder (flat/conical etc) has any effect on the taste of coffee.

At NBC we will learn about the results so far. Afterwards you will get the chance to be a part of the research.

NORDIC ROASTER FORUM 8-9 NOV.

Nordic Roaster Forum is an annual gathering for roasters, cuppers and importers.This year it will be held in Reykjavík, Iceland on 8.-9. November 2013.

The subjects are origin, cupping and roasting. Confirmed speakers: Trish Rotgelb, Ben Kaminsky and Aaron Davis.
