Dear Subscriber,

The countdown has begun and tonight in Wellington, we welcome acclaimed opera star Bryn Terfel to the stage to perform a Gala Evening of music with the NZSO. It’s your turn on Saturday, Auckland! Then, we fast forward to our NZ Music Month concert Hear & Far with an insightful video of American composer John Adams’ riveting Harmonielehre. Concertmaster Vesa-Matti Leppänen transforms into a soaring lark in our popular concert The Lark Ascending and we rewind the clock to give you another taste of Shostakovich’s ‘Leningrad’ Symphony. Flick through photos of the master class with cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, and win Bryn Terfel CDs...

On-stage with Bryn Terfel

We’re thrilled to announce the highly anticipated arrival of Welsh operatic star Bryn Terfel. Rehearsals have been heating up for this Gala Concert of the year – tonight in Wellington and tomorrow in Auckland. Come and witness a singer performing at the height of his vocal powers. “He can roar – with pain, with pleasure, with fierce indignation, filling the hall with full, strong tone.” The New York Times.
