Family gatherings, holiday meals and countless activities that comprise family life — gone in a matter of minutes. HFI staff members Craig and Beckie Snow are from Santa Rosa where the destruction has been intense. Within their circle of friends, at least 20 people have suffered the loss of homes and properties. HFI Founders, Jack and Cherie Minton, are from Orange County where fires rage around the area they once called home. This is personal for Hope Force International (HFI).
Fire is thorough in its relentless quest to destroy and the fury lasts as long as there is “fuel” to burn. The aftermath leaves individuals, families and entire communities reeling from an unimaginable nightmare. In times such as these, significant relationships with family, friends, our local church and other affiliations come to mean so very much. A listening ear, a prepared meal, a place to stay or a shoulder to lean on takes on great importance. Local churches, The Salvation Army and local chaplains will provide much needed comfort and care.
In fire response activities, Hope Force International responds by providing volunteers to our national partner The Salvation Army when such requests are received. In times past, HFI has been called upon to serve in the aftermath of similar fires and we remain vigilant and ready to do so now.
