Daffodils, hyacinths and blue pots making a wonderful display in the greenhouse

Step into Spring

It's less than a month until we reopen on March 2nd, and in the greenhouse the garden team are busy planting up bulbs into our gorgeous range of blue and white pots ready for Mothering Sunday.

As you can see they've also ensured there's an early display of hyacinths and Tête-á-Tête’ daffodils to brighten the greenhouse right now. Imagine the scent - it's heavenly!

A sneak preview of our Events programme...

Spring flower arrangement at West Green House

We're putting the finishing touches to this year's exciting Events programme. New treats include a pop-up restaurant, classic cars, and a literary lunch with Stephen Lacey.

Stephen's latest book is the RHS Companion to Scented Plants, an apt subject for him to talk about at West Green House.

We also have three flower-filled workshops with Sandra Short - spring flowers, roses and autumnal arrangements. She's responsible for this delightful display, using freshly picked flowers from the garden - except for the tulips! Doesn't it look smashing?

All the jugs and pots are included in our new Garden Room range, available when the garden reopens on March 2nd.

We're sending out our new Events brochure shortly. Get in touch if you'd like to be added to our mailing list.

Meanwhile, out in the garden...

Snowdrops at West Green House

Our snowdrops and hellebores are giving us a wonderful display. The mild winter means they're much further ahead than usual.

The garden team are currently busy with lots of tree work, making sure they're in a healthy condition before the birds move in for their nesting season.

All the beds and borders are getting a deep layer of wonderful chocolatey coloured mulch ready for spring's planting activities.

Daffodil surprises

Early daffodils at West Green House

Like many southern gardens, we have an even earlier display of daffodils this year, as you can see from this photograph of the Lakefield.

There are plenty more still to come, so the view is set to be amazing for our opening on 2nd March and for Mothering Sunday.
