New National Road Safety Foundation Film Dramatizes Dangers of Driving While HighA Puff Before Dying,” a new short film from The National Road Safety Foundation (NRSF), uses satire and puppetry to dramatize the dangers of driving while high on marijuana.
The nine-minute film, which had its world premiere to critical acclaim at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March, is now available for free viewing or download at the NRSF website at www.nrsf.org/resources/impaired-driving. Read the press release here
Everyone on our roads has a responsibility to help keep each other safe. The annual FMCSA Road Safety Art Contest invites students to use their creativity to raise awareness of how to stay safe on the road, particularly when driving, biking, or walking around large trucks and buses. This year, the contest has expanded to include students in grades K-12, with new submission categories including digital art, craft, video, and photography. The 2021 contest is now open! Mask Up While TravelingU.S. federal law now requires the wearing of face masks on all forms of public transportation. To get the message out, the U.S. Department of Transportation started a new initiative: Mask Up. Utah Launches Pioneering Pilot on Mobile Driver’s LicenseThe Utah Driver License Division (DLD) has launched a mobile driver license (mDL) pilot for offering driver’s licenses and ID cards on mobile phones. The pilot will
demonstrate improvement in citizen privacy and security, while highlighting the convenience and safety of tap and go transactions. It will use a fully ISO 18013-5-compliant mobile app, following the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) mDL Implementation Guidelines. Read more here
