With idols like Cathy Freeman and Sally Pearson it's no wonder Torita Isacc wants to follow in their footsteps.
She won't even let her disabilities - vision impairment and cerebral palsy - stop her from achieving her goals.
The young First Nation's athlete from Logan, south of Brisbane, got her chance at the London Paralympic Games competing in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.
Before her trip she popped by 98.9fm studios to explain how a YouTube clip got her hooked on running.
"When I was in grade 7, I happen to run cross-country and I placed fourth," she began.
"My Mum always inspired me and she showed me a YouTube clip of Cathy Freeman running in Sydney."
From that point on, Torita says her interest grew and became even stronger as she followed the career of Australian hurdle champion, Sally Pearson.
Like her idols, Torita holds some state, national and Oceanic titles for her class and age group (cerebral palsy and Under 16) including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m. She's the current record-holder for the 400m for her class.
"I did like cross-country when I started but I am now a sprinter."
