You can explore the zoo using one of our many free downloadable curriculum-linked resources. There are also Discovery Boxes around the zoo that are free for school groups to book and use. They contain exciting props to help you to learn about the animals. Animal Stars at Marwell! When you are visiting, keep your eyes peeled for two of our newest arrivals. In April, we celebrated the birth of a female okapi calf. She was named by keepers as Niari, which means ‘rare’. This is also an area in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where okapis are found in the wild. We'd also like to introduce you to Peter. Peter is a three-year-old male red panda and arrived on 7 March, from Gaia Zoo. He has been settling in to his new surroundings with our female red panda, Mei Mei. Be sure to add these two in to your route when you visit the zoo. |
