Merry Christmas from your friends at Hope Force International!

John Wesley stated, "Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can."  As we reflect on all that has happened in 2013, our hearts are full of gratitude to the Lord and for those who have prayed, served and given.

As a disaster response organization, Hope Force International offers help and hope to people who are struggling with sudden, unexpected and often traumatic loss. Staff and volunteers serving in these environments do so at great cost – emotionally, physically and often financially. To each one who participated in any fashion, we want to say “thank you!”  Together, the sum total of our expression represents God’s heart of compassionate, intimate and loving care.

Would you please consider making an investment into Hope Force International (HFI) as a part of your year-end giving?  We must be ready at a moment’s notice to put our love of God and people into compassionate action.  A donation of any size is deeply appreciated and will help us finish the year strong. With your support, HFI will continue to bring hope through compassionate action to disaster survivors here at home and abroad. Together, we can make an immediate and lasting difference.

Sending our heartfelt gratitude… and wishing you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Jack and Cherie Minton, Co-Founders

Hope Force International celebrates its 10-year anniversary on June 13th

When Typhoon Haiyan slammed into the Philippines on November 8th, it inflicted a level of devastation like no other typhoon in recorded history.

Situated close to the Ohio River with an ever-present potential of flooding, Brookport, Illinois and the neighboring town of Unionville understand the threat of flood-related disasters. However, tornados proved to be a different story.  As the town had never suffered the devastation of a tornado, residents thought the river would continue to protect them, causing the twisters to dissipate.  When a dangerous line of fast-moving storms in the Midwest spawned at least 80 tornados on November 17th, one of which deeply impacted the small town of Brookport, disbelief compounded the stress and grief. » Read More

After almost four years, Hope Force continues to rebuild in earthquake-stricken Haiti.

One of the hardest aspects of a disaster is watching the news media go on to the next story, and then seeing the world quickly forget those who are still reeling from the aftermath. Life still goes on whether cameras are rolling or not. After the initial media blitz of Super Storm Sandy, Hope Force stayed behind and served for over a year in Atlantic City, New Jersey – standing up the city’s long-term recovery center.

In November, the team finally turned over the leadership reins after investing countless hours through the efforts of many Reservists and staff who came to serve. » Read More

Hope Force International needs more Reservists like Glenda Alexander! When large disasters strike, the Hope Force International headquarters in Brentwood, Tennessee becomes a wild scene of papers flying, phones ringing off the hook, strategy meetings, prayer and “organized chaos.” In the midst of it all, there is one Reservist who consistently jumps into the fray, both on the field and in the home office…Glenda Alexander. With an amazing gift mix of energy, creativity, compassion and a servant’s heart, we rejoice when she shows up on the scene! » Read More
