This special edition of Pānui – Energy and Resource Markets provides an update on the upcoming webinar for iwi, hapū and Māori groups with interest in the energy hardship/wellbeing definition Webinar registration open: learn more about the energy hardship/wellbeing definitionEarlier this month, MBIE’s draft definition and measures of energy hardship went out for public consultation. We’d like to understand what people think about our proposals and whether they reflect their understanding and experience of energy hardship in Aotearoa. We are particularly keen to hear from iwi and hapū to ensure the proposals incorporate a te ao Māori view. We welcome everyone to have their say before the consultation closes on 5pm, Thursday 16 December. To help people better understand what’s being proposed, we’re holding two, one-hour webinars. Both are free to join, and anyone is welcome to attend, however the second webinar is intended to provide a platform for iwi, hapū, and Māori groups and individuals to learn about the proposals. We are holding this second session to make sure that iwi and Māori attendees are informed and have their questions answered as part of our commitment to meaningful engagement under Te Tiriti. The dates for the webinars are:
The first half of the seminar will cover what’s being proposed, with the second half allowing for participants to ask questions.
