  Meet the buyer

Welcome to the March 2012 edition of the Business Insider.

Imagine having 15 major government agencies wanting to talk to you about what your business can do for them. Well imagine no more, Procurement.govt.nz is holding a “Meet the Buyer” event in Wellington where you can promote your business directly to buyers from government organisations. We show you how your business can apply to attend.

Following from last month’s analysis of trial periods, Quigg Partners have provided us with an interesting case study of a recent Employment Court case which looks at the importance of following the correct process when dismissing an employee.

Don’t forget the minimum wage is increasing on 1 April 2012, this will affect minimum wage earners and those on the training and new entrants’ minimum wages. Make sure you are paying your staff correctly from this date.

As another tax year draws to a close we have an overview from Inland Revenue of the forms your employees may need at the end of the year and where to get them from.

Lastly, do you know of an environmentally friendly business in your community? If you do, make sure you nominate them for the annual Ministry for the Environment Green Ribbon Awards.
