Club Vacancies - can you fill one of these roles in 19/20?

We have a number of vacancies which need filling for the 19/20 season. Each role might only be a couple of hours a week (some even less) but we need them filled to ensure smooth running of our rugby club. We’re a friendly group of people with a “one club” vision, so why not join the team and get involved? Full training and continuous support would be provided.

Please do have an informal chat with any committee member or Michelle, Club Manager should you be interested and wish to find out more.

Pre-Season Senior Rugby Friendlies:
Ipswich RFC vs Felixstowe RUFC – Kick Off 2.30pm
Ipswich RFC vs Sudbury RUFC – Kick Off 4pm

with fun for all the family:

Bar, BBQ, Ice Creams, Inflatables, Glitter and Henna Tattoos, Facepainting, Touch Rugby try-outs, Ladies rugby taster session from 3-3:45pm, Games, Raffle, Live Music from 5:30pm - 8pm

Wristbands will be available to buy for unlimited play on the inflatables.

Prices 

In advance (from behind the bar from Friday 19th July) : £4 per wristband, buy 2 and get free Parking

On the day £5 per wristband : buy 2 and get free parking

Otherwise: £2 parking 

Join us at Humber Doucy Lane from 2pm to start the season in style

2020 Vision - Dates for your diary!

Ipswich RFC is the 4th oldest (open) rugby club in the world and we will celebrate our 150th anniversary in the 2020/2021 season.  These milestones need to be marked in style and we intend to do so with a host of special activities and events.  

As we build up to the season we will use this section of our newsletter to keep members up to date with plans and to ask for help when needed (which is always!).

Amongst planned events are the following dates to note in your diary:

29-30 August 2020  -  “#150Fest” – Kicking off the special season with a senior and youth rugby festival.  Rugby, Music, Food, Drink, Camping, Fun & Games at a family-themed competitive rugby festival over the bank holiday weekend.  Do not miss it, so book your holidays accordingly!

31 October 2020 – Celebratory Dinner.  With players and dignitaries past and present.

12 June 2021 – End of season ball.  See out the season in style with a marquee ball at the club.

13 June 2021 – Youth and Junior Awards Lunch and Party.  All age groups come together to close the season, celebrate and receive awards from special guests.

There will be much more going on throughout the 2020/21 season.  We intend to have special kit & merchandise, undertake and historical archive project and use the opportunity to engage widely with the local community.  We will need lots of help from volunteers and lots of sponsors to help make the most of this special season.
