House Voting on Immigration Bill Today (Thursday)

Say NO to HR 5230 $659 million Dollar package to Obama
Say YES to the Cruz/Blackburn DACA bill

Thursday, the US House will take up a supplemental immigration funding bill (HR 5230) and other proposed legislation dealing with the border crisis and illegal aliens.

Congresswoman Michelle Bachman and Congressman Louie Gohmert just laid out compelling reasons to reject this legislation in its entirety.  Congressman Gohmert highlighted passages in the bill that gave the DOJ unprecedented powers to allow illegals to stay in OUR country.

Please call your Congressman and tell them to vote NO on HR 5230.  The US House leadership is going to try to introduce an independent bill to try to fund this effort.  They need to vote NO on any related bill.  They need to support Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn's bill to cancel DACA.

An emergency border spending package backed by the House GOP leadership appeared to be in trouble even after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) met with a group of House conservatives.

House conservatives emerging from a late evening meeting in Cruz's office said they would oppose the $659 million legislation and warned it might fail on the House floor, an embarrassing prospect for the new GOP leadership team.
"It doesn't sound like the Granger bill has the votes to pass," said Rep. John Fleming (R-La.), who plans to vote against the border package endorsed by his leadership.

After meeting with Cruz Wednesday, conservatives expressed reluctance to support the leadership bill without reforms drastically curtailing DACA.

They note that since 2012, when Obama halted the deportation of illegal immigrants who came to the country at a young age, the number of child immigrants has spiked.

"It's not as attractive to me without DACA reform," said Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-Texas). "I've heard a number of members say that DACA they think is an important part of this solution."

Conservatives said they will get a vote on legislation sponsored by Cruz and Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) that would also halt federal funding for DACA and bar illegal immigrants from working.

Documentary Film Producer Dennis Michael Lynch Coming to Gainesville

We are working on bringing Dennis Michael Lynch, Documentary Producer of "They Come to America" and "They Come to America 2 - The Cost of Amnesty"  to Gainesville on the afternoon of August 18th.  Dennis is beginning a tour of the country, starting in Florida, part of the tour is an exploration on whether he will run for the Presidency in 2016.

Dennis said:  The first leg of my national tour starts on Aug 15 in Florida and ends on Oct 4 in Phoenix. If the crowd size at each stop is large, and if the crowds respond to my ideas for reviving America, and if on Oct 4 when my wife joins me on stage -- if she feels the electricity I expect to feel -- then there is little question that I will run in 2016. The official announcement would come in 2015 when I release my film FIGHTING FOR AMERICA (and now you understand why it's my final film). We will need lots of support and volunteers because I expect to win.

Four local tea parties are working on bringing Dennis here; there will be a $10 charge, which  will include one of his dvd's.  I will find out which one.  We also may meet at Perkins restaurant, that way anyone who wants to order lunch can do that.

Check Dennis out: www.dmldaily.com/

If you think you can attend, please contact Sharon today at 386-688-9402 and let me know asap.  (we need to get a good idea of numbers so we can firm up our location.)
