2nd Grade eNews

This newsletter covers the week after Spring Break. We hope you have a wonderful time with your family!

March 25 - 29

Bible - We will be studying Martha and how her faith. Our Bible
Bible Verse - John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live.”
Reading - Our story will be “Half Chicken” and we will work on the skill Cause and Effect.
Spelling - Our words for this week have prefixes except our last two which are our review words: unhappy retell untangle unkind repaint refill unlike remake unpack reread unlock replay rewrite overheard read happy
Grammar - Irregular action verbs such as run/ran, come/came, sit/sat, hide/hid, tell/told, etc.
Math - We will be reviewing all the skills we have learned

March 15-22 - NO SCHOOL - SPRING BREAK
April 1-5 - This will be the week for Terra Nova Testing. We will begin at 8:15 a.m. until lunch time. Please do not schedule any doctor appointments before 11:00 this week if possible. Also, please be on time because we will begin right at 8:15 with tests.
Mrs. Foley will be conducting annual transition meetings with parents during TN3 week. This will be an opportunity to learn about the next grade at Shiloh. The meetings are coordinated with lunchtimes, so you can eat lunch and move to the meeting. We hope you will pencil these dates/times in your calendar. Notes will be provided in the Tuesday folders, but we hope you will choose to come to at least one meeting.
April 2 - Parents of 2nd Grade going to 3rd Grade will meet at 11:30 in CMR
April 18 - Easter and Speech Meet Chapel in Worship Center at 8:30 - more details to come
April 19 - No School for Good Friday
May 23 - Last Day of School - tentative - if we have more snow days, this date could change
