Thank You

Against all odds thousands of people took to Fitzroy St in St Kilda on Sunday, in a display of solidarity and celebration for Victoria's diverse LGBTQIA+ communities.
It took a lot of work from our team as well as from all of you organising your groups to get this event across the line, let alone for it to have run so smoothly!

We're so relieved that this event went so smoothly and we were able to safely celebrate (in the nick of time!)

We would like to thank everyone who was involved in the planning and execution of the event and cannot wait for Midsumma Pride March 2022.

The Midsumma Pride March Awards, intended to encourage a bright presence from participants, were won by the following groups:

Most Fabulous
awarded to the most fantastically-frocked group.
Winner: Sambia Energia
Honourable Mentions: O’ziriguidum Escola de Samba and friends, Pacifique X, Melbourne Front Runners

Peter Dewildt Award - Most Significant Message
awarded to the group with a timely and well-conveyed message. This award honours the memory of Peter Dewildt, Pride March Victoria's first president, who passed in 2019.
Winner: LAHRC Latin American & Hispanic Rainbow Community
Honourable Mentions: Indigenous Pride, Homestyle Aged Care Service, Coburg High School, Performing Older Women's Circus

Most Innovative
awarded to the cleverest group in the march​.
Winner: Victorian Pups & Handlers
Honourable Mentions: Argonauts, Port Phillip Council, Motafrenz Car Club, Bi Alliance

Thank you once more for your participation in Midsumma Pride March 2021. I know that there were lots of changes, processes, and rules to follow as we did our best to adhere to changing expectations and guidelines. 
We truly appreciate your persistence and flexibility which allowed the event to occur in such an uncertain time!

We can't wait to welcome you back for Midsumma Pride March 2022.
