Rally in Tally on Friday, February 8th in support of 2nd Amendment!
There will be a "Support of the Second Amendment" rally held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Capitol Building in Tallahassee. These rallies are being planned all over the country in an effort to let our elected representatives know that there are many law abiding citizens who know that the current attack on law-abiding gun owner's rights is just an excuse to promote an agenda!
Floridians will be rallying from all over the state to meet up at the Capitol Building. To keep up with events prior to this rally, you can go to: www.facebook.com/events/232730353528122/
If you would like to carpool and/or rally from the Lake City/Branford areas, please let Sharon know at 386-935-0821 or shiggins@windstream.net
There is another activity planned for February 23rd. Please go to www.dayofresistance.com; check this out and see if it is something we should try to do locally.

Update of PPACA (ObamaCare)
Hearings continue to be held in Tallahassee regarding the PPACA and what Florida is going to do. Both Select Committees are meeting on Monday, February 4th at 2:00 p.m. You can find the information for the House at: myflorida house and the Senate at:
flsenate Both of these links will give you all the information you need to contact the committee members, find out when the hearings are being held, watch them from your computer, etc.
A good suggestion was made that when we are corresponding with the legislators that we remind them that if they set up a state health exchange and things go badly; they will be blamed! The best outcome will be for Florida to nullify Obamacare, but we have to take this one step at a time. Setting up a State Health Exchange and expanding the Medicaid rolls will cost the Florida taxpayers more than we can afford!

Boy Scouts May Change Policy on Homosexuals
This was received by one of our members:
January 28, 2013
For decades, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have heroically withstood attacks from homosexual activists. Now, officials from the organization have indicated that this may be about to change. The BSA says that it is "discussing potentially removing the national membership restriction regarding sexual orientation."
"Be prepared." The motto of the venerable organization that has helped develop countless boys into men, preparedness is not only an aspiration, but a descriptor. Thus far they've been prepared to withstand the constant bullying by those who work to bring down all that the millions of dedicated Scouts and Scout leaders stand for.
A departure from their long-held policies would be devastating to an organization that has prided itself on the development of character in boys. In fact, according to a recent Gallup survey, only 42 percent of Americans support changing the policy to allow homosexual scout leaders.
As the BSA board meets next week, it is crucial that they hear from those who stand with them and their current policy regarding homosexuality. Please call the Boy Scouts of America at 972-580-2000 and tell them that you want to see the organization stand firm in its moral values and respect the right of parents to discuss these sexual topics with their children.
Please call the Boy Scouts at 972-580-2000!
