Click here Important Outreach Program funding newsCurrent and prospective service providers, please read the information provided below Healthy Ears - Better Hearing, Better Listening funding announcedRural Health West is pleased to advise that we have been awarded the Healthy Ears - Better Hearing, Better Listening (HEBHBL) contract by the Australian Government Department of Health. The contract is for a period of four years, commencing 1 July 2018 and ending 30 June 2022. HEBHBL aims to improve the diagnosis, treatment and management of complex ear conditions that arise in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and youth (aged 0 – 21 years) by increasing access to multidisciplinary ear health services. Key upcoming milestones
Transition periodDue to the timing of receipt of the contract, Rural Health West will continue existing HEBHBL services for a six month transition period from 1 July 2018 to 31 December 2018. All current services in this program have been reviewed by the Regional Services team and a Letter of Offer including a new Payment Schedule will be sent to service providers next week for continuation of services for a six month period. Please ensure you refer to the new Payment Schedule for the level of visits supported during this time. Following the funding round, newly contracted services will commence on 1 January 2019. Funding roundRural Health West will be holding a HEBHBL funding round from Monday 16 July 2018 closing on Friday 31 August 2018 at 12pm (WST). This will be an open funding round with current providers required to reapply for services from 1 January 2019. Application packs will be available at the commencement of the funding round. To request an application pack, you must submit an online enquiry form. This will be made available in coming weeks. For program information and eligibility, view the HEBHBL Fact Sheet and Service Delivery Standards on our website. Applicants will be required to submit Service Application Forms for the period 1 January 2019 to 30 June 2022, with a Budget and Itinerary Form submitted for the period 1 January 2019 to 30 June 2019. Budgets for subsequent financial years will be reviewed as part of our annual review process. It is anticipated that the funding round will be highly competitive, we therefore encourage applicants to collaborate with local stakeholders and work with communities to develop robust applications. Service proposals with evidence of community consultation and letters of support from local stakeholders are considered to be strong proposals. Annual Review 2018Services proposed for 2018-2019 through the Rural Health Outreach Fund, Medical Outreach Indigenous Chronic Disease Program, Eye and Ear Surgical Support Service and Visiting Optometrists Scheme are currently being reviewed by the Australian Government Department of Health Delegate. Payment schedules will be issued next week to service providers for the period 1 July 2018 - 30 June 2019. Service Activity Report and invoices 2017 - 2018If you are a current service provider, please ensure all outstanding outreach visit dates and Service Activity Reports (SAR) have been entered on the Outreach Management System by Tuesday 31 July 2018.
