Colouring Your World

It’s been hard to miss the phenomenon that is grown-up colouring books. Check out any bookshop and you’ll find they now take up an entire section. Companies that make pencils are working extra shifts to keep up with the demand.

And while it might seem weird, there’s a whole lot of science that says this relaxation exercise isn’t just a passing fad.

Benefits include stress relief, combating anxiety, calming the mind and training the brain to focus. Some say it's a little like yoga.

At Sketch Videos we’re a team of sketchers, so the benefits of colouring are not lost on us. But we’ve recently been investigating creating personalised colouring-in books that work with communicating your messages. It will be much like the way we work out your videos, only a bit more colourful and zen. If we can help colour your world, get in touch.

And if you want to learn a little more about it, check out this Radio National spot from ABC

Video is Taking Over Instagram

Instagram reports that in the last six months the time people spent watching video increased by more than 40 percent.

And now, Instagram supports 60 second video.

That means here at Sketch Videos we can make you something short and stupendous and there are even more platforms for you to show it off to your audience.

If you’ve made a video in the past that is a longer format and want a quick re-edit, give us a call—we’re happy to help.

Go Fish

Sketch Videos are pretty stoked with our team of fabulous illustrators.

Like the very best creative types, each illustrator has their own different style, and we are constantly amazed with their talent and ideas.

We asked Matt, Robin and Andrea to draw a simple fish…so that you can see how one word can be shown in so many different ways.

Sketch Videos is very proud to have recently worked with the VFBV to make a video showcasing the importance of their work. We asked Chief Executive Officer Andrew Ford what made the VFBV choose Sketch Videos to tell their story?

We needed to get a complicated message across in a way that would be easy to understand and had seen this technique used successfully in the past.  We chose Sketch Videos as we were impressed with their previous work.

And what's your opinion of the finished video?

We were really happy with the final product.  Getting the script right was difficult, but Sketch Videos were extremely patient and able to guide us in our endeavours.  Despite the challenges, we think that the final product manages to provide our audience with information in a way that is both engaging and informative.

And finally Andrew, what has been the impact of the video?

The video has been viewed over 50,000 times that we know of, and there may also be additional views from sources that have shared the video that we don’t know about.  Feedback from CFA volunteer brigades has been exceptional.  The video has been circulated to many workplaces and environments that we would not have anticipated, and most importantly of all, volunteers feel it is an accurate reflection of the contribution they make to the safety of Victoria.

Could your organisation benefit from a similar video? We'd love to help you get your message out there. Get in touch!

Until next time, stay colourful and sketchy!
