You Lost Me: Barna, a Christian research and resource organization recently completed a five-year study including 1,296 young adults who were current or former churchgoers. Here are six different reasons why three out of every five young Christians (59%) disconnect either permanently or for an extended period of time from church life after age 15:
Churches seem overprotective.
Teens' and twentysomethings' experience of Christianity is shallow.
Churches come across as antagonistic to science.
Young Christians' church experiences related to sexuality are often simplistic and judgmental.
They wrestle with the exclusive nature of Christianity.
GC World Budget Funds: The budget of the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s world headquarters this year will fund mission work and administrative support outside of North America, as well as the operation of the headquarters building. More Info: Visit News.Adventist.org.
