Research Update

Linked below is the Import-Export Report for August 2020. 

As we provided you earlier this week, key findings are below:

  • Total imports were up 18.1% for August 2020 compared to August 2019, but they are still down 8.3% for the year.
  • Imports from Mexico grew 21.0% for August 2020 comparied to the previous August. However, due to the Mexican government's decision to halt beer production due to the COVID-19 pandemic, imports from Mexico are still down 7.4% year-to-date compared to 2019.
  • Imports from the Netherlands grew 48.3% compared to August 2019 and are up 1.3% for the year.
  • NA beer imports from the Netherlands were down 57.4% compared to last August but are still up 24.1% compared to this point last year.

Please note that the numbers reflect updated information published by the Department of Commerce for 2017-2019.

Future 2020 Import-Export Reports will be released on:

  • November 4
  • December 4
