Employers of safety-sensitive transportation employees play a vital role in ensuring the safety of their employees and the traveling public. DOT regulated employers must comply with 49 CFR Part 40 and applicable DOT Agency regulations. Employers are responsible for developing and implementing successful DOT workplace drug and alcohol programs. This means the employer needs clear policies, provisions for education and training, drug and alcohol testing, and referral for evaluations and treatment when needed.

Holy Family Memorial's Work Health Options (WHO) and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will be training DOT Supervisors on Friday, April 13 at 8:30-10:30am. Class will take place at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, 2300 Western Avenue in the Manitowoc Room A

Drug and Alcohol Awareness

How aware are you of the drug and alcohol use among your employees? If you have a drug and alcohol policy in place I would bet you would not be surprised to hear that the rate of per capita alcohol consumption in Wisconsin is among the highest in the nation, or that misuse and abuse of pharmaceutical drugs appears to be a growing problem nationally and in Wisconsin. Having employees who are safe and sober at work is very important to say the least.

Where do you turn to find help for your employees? You can find help locally with the certified and trained professionals at Holy Family Memorial's Employee Assitance Program.

For all your DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol requirements, call Holy Family Memorial's Work Health Options (WHO). From policy development, to joining HFM's DOT Consortium, to pre-employment, random, post accident drug and alcohol testing and more, Work Health Options is your one stop shop.
