2nd Grade eNews

I am so proud of how well everyone did during Christmas chapel and our Christmas program. I hope you enjoyed having your child work earn money for a present.

• Bible - Our focus will be on the Christmas story this week using scriptures from Isaiah, Matthew, and Luke. Our memory verse is:
• Isaiah 9:6 “For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
• Reading - We will be reading about Helen Keller, learning about author’s purpose, and biographies. We will also do some fun Braille activities.
• Spelling - Words with the digraphs using the long o sound (o, oa, ow)own   most   soap   float   both   know   loan   goat   flow   loaf   throw   coach   name good
• Grammar - Proper Nouns
• Math - We will work on expanded form with 3-digit numbers, number sequences, numbers that are 10 more/less and numbers that are 100 more/less, rounding to the nearest hundred, and comparing 3 digit numbers. We will continue to work on addition facts.

• December 14 - Crazy hat/sock day - bring $1 for Lottie Moon
• December 17 - PJ day! Please no onesies, students still need tennis shoes.
• December 18 - Christmas party and pizza at 12 in our classroom! Early dismissal at 1:00, NO extended care. Students may wear Christmas shirts.
