Bookings Now Open for Next Generation Feminists

Following on from the exceptional political engagement generated around the referendum and in lead up to the 2015 and 2016 elections in Westminster and Holyrood, we felt this was an ideal opportunity to inspire young feminists, and feminists of the future to get active and involved in changing the world. So this year’s Next Generation event is themed “Taking Power”.

With speakers, panels and workshops, including:

* Talat Yaqoob from the Women's 50:50 Campaign on women and political leadership

* Zero Tolerance, Glasgow Women’s Library, Edinburgh Hollaback! with fun and engaging activities around grassroots activism and people power

* The opportunity to ask MSPs about their experiences as women in power

The event is open to young people aged 16-22. Spaces are FREE but limited. Please book your space(s) before 20 March 2015. There are some funds to help with travel expenses, so please do get in touch if you need some help with travel costs. To book your space, please visit the Eventbrite page.

Forced marriage

The Scottish Government has produced a teaching pack on forced marriage which will go out to schools and youth groups in Scotland. As part of this project, Media Co-op is producing a DVD to accompany this.

Media Co-op is looking for white Scottish participants aged 16 to 25 from the LGBT community who have felt under pressure to marry by family or friends; and also family members who have gone through this in the past.

The pack is available here.

If interested in taking part in the Media Co-op project, contact raisah@mediaco-op.net
