Postdoctoral Research Associate - Vascular Research Laboratory - Providence VA Medical Center, RI
A Postdoctoral Research Associate is sought to participate in VA funded research on mechanisms of smoke-induced lung endothelial cell injury. Studies include cell culture and mouse studies, including correlation of biochemical, pathological, and physiologic measurements.
The Vascular Research Laboratory located at the Providence VAMC consists of a group of MD and PhD investigators studying mechanisms of lung and cardiovascular injury. The Laboratory is funded by the VA and by the NIGMS through the CardioPulmonary Vascular Biology Center for Biomedical Research Excellence.
Training and experience in cell and/or molecular biology necessary. PhD or equivalent degree required with background in an area relevant to the ongoing research. Basic Science Research Scientist Positions - Anesthesiology and Critical Care - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia PA
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in both the non-tenure research track and the tenure track.

Research track: Individuals with postdoctoral experience and an outstanding record of research achievement with current funding and/or the potential to obtain extramural funding are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate would have an ability to engage the clinical faculty, directly or indirectly, in a research program.

Tenure track: Individuals will meet the above qualifications for the research track, as well as be poised to contribute to the teaching and mentoring of students within the existing neuroscience and biomedical graduate school curriculum and in his/her area of expertise.
For both tracks, the responsibilities of the successful applicant will be to complement ongoing research in the department which includes understanding the neural substrates linking stress to neuropsychiatric disorders such as depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, the neurobiology of pain, neuropharmacology of analgesic and anesthetic drugs, developmental aspects of stress and pain systems and sex differences.
Rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an MD or PhD or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and research. Individuals with expertise in neuroimmunology, molecular genetics and epigenetics and mouse models are particularly encouraged to apply. A 3-year start-up package will be provided.
