POLICE FOUNDATION BEGINS ITS ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

Your Juno Beach Police Foundation will kick off its 2020 Annual Campaign on December 7th with residents and business owners receiving a solicitation of gifts to support the men and women of the Juno Beach Police Department.

As a result of the donations we have received over the past years we have been able to make significant grants to the Juno Beach Police Department for additional Equipment, Training and Technology needs as well as in support of local Community Outreach Programs.

These grants have allowed for the purchase of an all-terrain vehicle for patrolling our beaches and natural areas, a street-legal golf car for patrolling special events, an aerial drone for overhead observation purposes, a firearms simulator to ensure that our Officers are prepared to respond to an active shooter event as well as trauma kits and CPR training equipment to ensure first responder preparedness.

Keeping Juno Beach safe is an ongoing effort. We are confident that our support of the Juno Beach Police Department will help achieve that.

POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS

JUNO BEACH POLICE CHIEF REPORTS DECREASE IN CRIMES

Chief Smith recently announced that the Crime Rate in Juno Beach continues to decline!

"For the first six months of 2020 our Total Crime Rate has decreased by 13.3% from an already low rate in 2019."

“Law enforcement, residents, and businesses working together is what helps to ensure our community is a safe places to live, work and play,” said Smith.

JUNO BEACH COLLECTS 25 POUNDS OF DRUGS

Major Fertig has reported that some 25 pounds of drugs were collected as part of the Annual DEA National Drug Take Back Day.

The Take Back Day provides an opportunity to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths. Too often unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic.

If you have unused prescription drugs to dispose of, please call Major Paul Fertig at (561) 656-0332 to find out how to dispose of them before the next DEA Drug Take Back Day in 2021.
