Visitors will soon enjoy improved accessibility and a better visitor experience, with upgrades planned to uplift facilities and manage visitor impacts to preserve the park’s unique environment. The Victorian Government has invested $2.6 million to fund these upgrades delivered by Parks Victoria, including $2.3 million from the Regional Tourism Investment Fund – Stimulus and $300,000 from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. An additional $400,000 funded by Melbourne Water will deliver works to support visitor accessibility and revegetation along the Cement Creek and Yarra River. Project update: Works have commenced Following the approval and confirmation of designs earlier this year, we are pleased to announce that works have commenced. During construction, some areas of the forest will be temporarily closed to the public to ensure the safety of our visitors, contractors, and staff. However, Yarra Ranges National Park will largely remain open. For up-to-date information on access changes in the park, please refer to the Redwood Forest park page.
