Research Update

Good afternoon,

Linked below is the December 2018 Domestic Tax Paid Estimate. Below find a few key points provided by our Chief Economist, Michael Uhrich:

  • Domestic beer shipment volume increased by 2.2% in December, breaking a three-month streak of shipment declines.
  • This brings the full year 2018 domestic beer trend to minus 2.1%.
  • December’s above average domestic trend was driven partially by relatively strong performance among FMBs, including hard seltzers, and modest improvement among on-premise outlets.

If you have any questions, please contact Michael at either 202-737-2337 or muhrich@beerinstitute.org.
