It's not just our local business who are getting into the Christmas spirit. Community groups are also hosting a number of gatherings to celebrate Christmas in the park. From bring a plate Christmas lunches, to holiday workshops and more, there are so many ways to celebrate with our community this festive season! Your little ones will love Rock 'n' Toddle, and Joi Ride will get everyone dancing with the best songs from the '90s to now. David Bowie tribute and British superstarsSunday 3 February, 5:30pm Rock out with your favourite Brit acts from yesteryear, and enjoy all their classic hits in a family-friendly setting. Free parking is available, with food, coffee and ice cream for purchase. There will also be a sausage sizzle supporting different local sporting clubs at each concert. Multisports Kids ClubDuring the January 2019 school holidays Leisurelife will be running fun and engaging multisport kids club program for children aged 6-12 years of age. This program will be designed to introduce, develop and practice key fundamental skills for a variety of sports. Weight-bearing activities are extremely important in children of a young age as it leads to stronger bones in adults. Our kids sports club integrates drills and gameplay that are both beneficial to skill development and learning as well as being a whole lot of fun for all ages! Kids Club will run 8.30-12noon Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 7-23 January 2019.
Live painting with Harrison See 12 and 13 December, 10am-4pm Watch award-winning artist Harrison See create a piece of art live at the Victoria Park Library. Come along to see an artist at work and chat to Harrison about his art practice. Harrison will be artist-in-residence at the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts until the end of the year. There will be an exhibition of his artworks available to view from mid-December. Harrison See is a Western Australian artist predominantly using paint and sculpture to construct scenes rich in narrative and symbolism and express stories that transcend cultural differences. Recently returned from China where he explored Chinese culture as an artist-in-residence, Harrison is back in Perth to pay homage to his hometown’s natural environment. |
