Give Me 5 For Kids

More than $500,000 raised!

We were once again pleased to be able to support the Southern Cross TV Give Me 5 For Kids Telethon, held on Tuesday, 5 July. The money raised will fund much needed medical equipment for children’s wards across the state.

This year the telethon raised over $500,000. Thank you to everyone who donated to this very worthwhile cause.

Tax time again!

We are in the midst of tax time, which means some of us will be scrambling to get all the necessary paperwork together to send to our accountant or tearing our hair out in anticipation of completing a return ourselves.

Unfortunately, it may be too late to be the super-organised person you’ve always wanted to be for this year’s return but if you follow these four simple tips from our Chief Financial Officer, Gerald White, by next year you could almost look forward to tax time! (Well … we did say almost).

Funds go to those in need

The Examiner B&E Flood appeal has raised over $42,000 to help those affected by the June floods. The funds were distributed to the City Mission, St Vincent de Paul Society, RAW Tas, The Benevolent Society and the Salvation Army at an official presentation at our Launceston branch on Friday, July 22. The Examiner Newspaper was on site to capture the moment.

Although, the fund is now closed, donations can be made directly to any of our local charities at any time.

Thank you to those who kindly supported the appeal.
