Vision Sermon: This weekend, Pastor Guy will speak on the subject of Vision from Acts 9. We will learn what a vision is, what makes vision succeed and what makes it stick, and we will see how we can overcome the roadblocks to a vision. Pastor Guy will also have some news about our 10-Year vision, “Frederick for Christ,” sharing about some exciting goals we have for this upcoming year. Don’t miss it!

Operation Christmas Child: Donations continue to be accepted for Operation Christmas Child. Here are the items most needed: Ivory soap, toothbrushes for 2-4 year olds, combs, coloring Books, crayola Crayons, girls socks & panties for 2-8 year olds, boys undies & t's for 2-4 year olds, bandanas. Please drop off items in the collection box in the lobby.
Law Enforcement Recognition: MVCC would like to recognize and honor members of the law enforcement community during services the weekend of October 14th-15th. Dive-In: Group study continues Sunday at 9:15am in the adult classroom with our 12-week-long video series on the "Foundations of Apologetics." Join us to learn how to recognize the many worldviews influencing our culture and get equipped to challenge the assumptions they are founded upon in a winsome and effective manner. Leif Dahl will be facilitating the discussion following the video.

First Saturday Fellowship: Please join us this Saturday after our 6:00pm service for faith, food, and fellowship. When you really consider your priorities, does your financial planning supercede listening to God's plan for your life? This video and discussion is guaranteed to make you think. So, come early to join us for coffee, donuts, & the occasional breakfast burrito. Bible Study: "Discerning the Voice of God" by Priscilla Shirer will be held Tuesday mornings from 9:30 -11:30 in the adult classroom. The remaining meeting dates are: 10/17, 10/31, 11/14, and 11/28. Please reserve November 7th as well for our care/service project. This study has a recently updated and revised DVD which we will watch each week in addition to discussing the homework questions. Bible Study: "Uninvited" by Lysa TerKeurst will be the focus of a home bible study for single women. In this six-session video Bible Study, Lysa TerKeurst digs deep into God’s Word to help you explore the roots of rejection, the way other relationships get tainted because of a past rejection, and the truth about what it looks like to live loved. Registration is open until October 6th and spaces are still available. Meetings are held every other Friday at 7:00pm at Sandra Pechnik's home in Urbana. God's Fruit Stand: Don't forget to bring in your "Backyard Bucks" to spend on all sorts of items at God's Fruit Stand. Each week, the kids have multiple opportunities to earn their backyard bucks during church services, through memory verses, class participation, and more. They can then spend them at God's Fruit Stand, which opens after Saturday night service and both Sunday services.

Abba's Hands & Heart: In recognition of Orphan Sunday, Abba's Hands & Heart is hosting a brunch on Saturday, November 11th, 2017 from 10:30am to 12:30pm in The Pit. We will be welcoming guest speaker JT Olson who is the author of the book "The Orphan, the Widow & Me" and founder of "Both Hands", a ministry for orphans, widows and adoptive families. JT is a positive, energetic, passionate speaker. Come be encouraged and challenged as JT shares about his journey from orphan to ministry leader. Children are welcome. MOPS 2017-2018: The new MOPS season is underway, exploring the theme “Free Indeed.” Spaces in the MOPS Kids program are filled, but moms can still join if childcare is not needed.
