From Service to Action: CPC Advocacy Conference

The Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) is excited to invite you to join CPC for a one-day advocacy and capacity building conference created specifically for community-based organizations and social services providers.

Whether your organization is just beginning to explore advocacy or has been doing advocacy work for years and wants to increase skills, strengthen systems, and connect with peers, this conference is designed with you in mind!

From Service to Action: CPC Advocacy Conference

What to expect:

This one-day conference aims to bring together organizations that provide direct services and are interested in building or deepening advocacy work that supports their communities and strengthens long-term impact. We'll do this through a mix of practical workshops, strategy sessions, and opportunities for cross-sector connection, with a focus on actionable tools and real-world application. It's meant for staff at all levels — from executive directors and senior leadership to frontline staff and emerging leaders. We believe it will be most effective when staff attend from a given organization across multiple levels to bring learnings and tools back to their colleagues.

Training topics will include:

• Starting advocacy work and building internal buy-in, including working with boards and leadership teams
• Funding advocacy and making the case for long-term investment
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with legislators and decision-makers
• Integrating advocacy into direct service work through programs and organization activities 
• Developing leadership from within your organization, particularly frontline staff
• Engaging community members in advocacy and building a community-led agenda
• Building youth power in advocacy and civic engagement 

This conference is designed to meet organizations where they are — offering entry points for those new to advocacy while also providing space for experienced organizations to sharpen strategies, share lessons learned, and build connections across the sector. We're all excited to r
