2013 was an eventful year (pardon the pun!) at Event Planet and we would like to showcase some of the exciting projects we have recently produced. For the team, it was all about new ideas and experiences, managing indoor and outdoor events, company milestone celebrations, winning awards, inaugural product exposés, conferences and multiple brand activations.

We've hit the ground running in 2014 and we are working on so many exciting projects for the next quarter, so watch this space for the next newsletter in July!

Best wishes,
The Event Planet Team

Winners at the 2013 Australian Event Awards!

2013 Australian Event Award Winners

We at Event Planet are reserving the right for a modest brag... For the second consecutive year we were awarded the coveted Australian Event Manager of the Year at the Australian Event Awards. In the history of the awards this title has never been won twice by the same event company, let alone two years in succession. Amy Merriman, our Managing Director, was completely taken by surprise and didn't have a speech ready, yet in true event management style, she managed to deliver a few words off the cuff including to remember to thank everyone involved.

We're 'in orbit' over the award! Read more here.

Tabcorp Birdcage Marquee, Victoria Racing Club Flemington

Tabcorp Birdcage Marquee

Event Planet once again designed and produced the 2013 Tabcorp Birdcage Marquee in consultation with Tabcorp. The look and feel was chic café culture featuring exterior striped canopies, hedging walls and wrought iron planter boxes with the interior boasting a feature café serving the daily specials from Melbourne chef, Adam D'Sylva of CODA. A bespoke mirror wall reflected the dramatic panels of seemingly floating rose buds, sitting above a luxurious black velvet banquette seat. Exquisite white orchids featured throughout the space, setting the perfect spring carnival feel.

Take a look at how we styled the marquee.

Paspaley Polo in the City 2013

polo in the city 2013

For the fifth year in succession, Event Planet managed Paspaley Polo in the City with the Event Planet team on the road for five weeks, visiting five states and hosting record number of guests. In addition to managing the Paspaley Polo in the City series, Event Planet also executed the Paspaley Polo Marquee that brought glamour, sophistication and exquisite beauty of Paspaley Pearls to the event. Taking cue from the gorgeous Paspaley Pearls boutiques, Event Planet gave the three double tier viewing shipping containers a facelift complete with custom framed pearl displays and feature artwork by artist Megan Hess. A feature Fifth Ave style awning, chic white furniture, spiral topiaries and yellow roses completed the look.

Veuve Clicquot Airstream at Polo in the City

It was time to do the twist at the “Veuve Clicquot Diner” at Paspaley Polo in the City as Event Planet produced a traditional 50’s diner experience for guests, including celebrities and socialites. The diner was the iconic Veuve Clicquot airstream caravan that served Veuve Clicquot champagne and American diner food all day. Wait staff were dressed in retro diner uniforms (with Clicquot yellow touch!) and had photos taken with guests as they danced their way across the black and white checkered flooring!

Game, Set, Moët with Roger Federer

game, set, moet with roger federer

The start of the New Year brings all things tennis to Australia, and for Moët & Chandon was the introduction of global brand ambassador, Roger Federer. Event Planet headed to Crown Melbourne to manage and activate the Australian “Game, Set & Moët” event campaign. It included a 'tiny tennis' court made up of the distinct Moët & Chandon brand cream and gold with an Australian Open ‘blue’ border, matching branded tennis racquets and balls. Roger Federer umpired the guests during friendly matches and even enjoyed some on court action too.
