Victoria Foundation welcomes new faces

The New Year brought some new faces to the Victoria Foundation with the appointment of a new board chair, two directors and two staff members. Deidre Roberts is the new chair of the board of directors while Karen DeMeo and Judy Pryce join the board as new directors. Read more about them on our website.

Victoria Circle passes the 100-member milestone

The Victoria Circle is a group of caring individuals and families who have notified the foundation of their intention to leave a legacy gift for the causes they care about. The Circle celebrates and recognizes these generous donors through special events and provides an opportunity for them to learn more about issues of importance to the community. If you would like to find out more about how your clients may join The Victoria Circle, please email Sara Neely, Director of Philanthropic Services.

British Columbia Planned Giving Guide 2012/2013

The 4th edition of the BC Planned Giving Guide has been distributed to over 1500 estate planning professionals. It serves as a useful tool for facilitating charitable gifts for your clients. The Victoria Foundation's Director of Philanthropic Services, Sara Neely, contributed the article "Planned Gifts: Which Way of Giving is Right for You?" Have you received your copy of the Guide?  If not, the Victoria Foundation has extra copies that we would be happy to share with you. 

Victoria Foundation sponsors Vital People feature with CHEK TV

The Victoria Foundation is sponsoring a new series with CHEK TV called Vital People. Airing each Sunday on CHEK News @ 5, Vital People shares the stories of people and organizations working on the vital issues that contribute to the health of our community. CPD credits available at 19th Annual Gift Planning Conference in Victoria April 18 -20

The Canadian Association of Gift Planners fosters education in gift planning by holding a unique annual Conference - the only one in Canada that specializes in gift planning. Since the first conference in 1994, CAGP-ACPDP™ has brought over 6,000 people together to learn, to network and to share best practices. These individuals are comprised of fundraising professionals, board members, volunteers, accountants, lawyers, financial planners, and estate planners. CPD credits for Advocis and the Law Society of BC are available. Read more about the conference.

 

Support Every Step Counts during the TC10K

Celebrating three successful years, Every Step Counts is a weekly running and walking program launched by the Victoria Foundation in partnership with Victoria Cool Aid Society in 2009. It has helped empower and support over 300 men and women who experience challenges with mental health, addiction, poverty, social isolation and other barriers. This year the program is one of the five deserving charities that will benefit from the TC 10K.
