A thriving neighborhood is one where residents can easily find fresh, healthy and affordable food. Through LISC NYC’s Communities for Healthy Food program, we supported five community organizations to help them implement diverse strategies to improve access to healthy food in their neighborhoods. The Communities for Healthy Food Toolkit provides practical advice and lessons learned from four years of implementing this work on the ground. Join us for a discussion about how LISC NYC launched and led CfHF, and insights from two community organization leaders who implemented the work in neighborhoods in Brooklyn and the Bronx.
Speakers:
Emily Blank, Senior Community Development Officer, LISC NYC
Bianca Bockman, former Food Justice Programs Director, NEBHDCo
Taisy Conk, Director, Community Food Action, New Settlement Apartments
