CPC Childhood Development Services was proud to present our Learn and Grow Series, a series of virtual events taking children of our early childhood and elementary enrichment programs on different journeys to explore, create, and celebrate Lunar New Year during the week of February 8th. CPC Little Star Book Distribution Supports Early Childhood Development and Literacy

CPC Little Star Early Childhood Center held a book distribution event on March 4th. Our children received books illustrated by Grace Lin. The books reflect the diversity of our families and educate children on how everyday experiences can highlight math problem-solving. CPC Statement on the Rise in Anti-Asian Hate Crimes

CPC denounces the rise in anti-Asian discrimination and hate crimes in New York and around the country. ​CPC condemns violence and hate of all forms, ​and calls on government officials and community leaders to promote safety, respect, and dignity in all neighborhoods. However, this does not mean over-policing, but rather investment in communities and in restorative justice to ensure that there is accountability and healing.​ Resources must be allocated to provide human services, health care, and mental health supports.

CPC Seniors Celebrate the Year of the Ox

CPC Food Program Featured on NBC News with Heart of Dinner

NBC News had a story that followed CPC Brooklyn Community Services Director Steve Mei on his weekly round of meal deliveries to our senior community members, including Mr. and Mrs. Lee. This weekly ritual fights hunger in partnership with Heart of Dinner. It has also become a time to visit with familiar faces and connect during a time of isolation and loneliness. 

CPC IRA Residents and Staff Receive COVID-19 Vaccination

Residents and staff of CPC Individual Residential Alternative (IRA) at the Josephine M. Ho Community Residence for Special Needs and staff received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on January 28th from Walgreens Pharmacy. The IRA Community Residence has been operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week with staff support to provide care for the six residents living with developmental disabilities.

CPC Hong Ning Housing Residents Receive Vaccinations

Thanks to the commitment of Mannings/Confucius Pharmacies and the MMS Group, CPC Hong Ning Housing for the Elderly was able to bring the COVID-19 vaccine to its senior residents and essential services staff. About 100 vaccines were administered in 4.5 hours!

CPC Partners With NYU Langone Medical Center on COVID-Safe Practices Across Programs and Sites

CPC has been partnering with the Department of Medicine at NYU Long Island School of Medicine to implement organization-wide COVID-safe plans and practices. Sinovision published a story about the partnership on February 8th.

CPC Speaks at Assembly Member Yuh-Line Niou & Senator Gustavo Rivera Press Conference on Vaccine Inequity

Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou and Senator Gustavo Rivera hosted a press conference on February 5th on the inequities in vaccine distribution and access to COVID-19 resources. CPC Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer Carlyn Cowen joined to speak on barriers our community members face with the current one-size-fits-all approach, and the need for an equitable process that supports human services providers doing the work at the community level.

Wayne Ho Named to City & State 2021 Nonprofit Power 100 List

On February 22nd, City & State NY published the "2021 Nonprofit Power 100" list and CPC President & CEO, Wayne Ho, was named number 41. Congratulations to the fellow settlement house leaders and community allies were also on the Power 100 list.

Association for a Better New York Recognizes CPC's Census Outreach

The Association for a Better New York (ABNY) recognized CPC with an award for our Census 2020 outreach and education. The award is in recognition of CPC efforts to conduct outreach both in person and virtually, which resulted in contact with 26,000 community members.
