What happens when a woman who has worn a niqab, sometimes for years, makes the decision to leave it behind? French sociologist Agnès De Féo spent time with two French women who did just that. In a story, translated from our colleagues at The Conversation France, she chronicles their decision to remove the veil.
The pursuit of growth, traditional economic thought argues, is still the oil that makes the capitalism of the world go round. But Adam Barrett argues that a post-growth economy, where GDP doesn’t continue to grow, could actually be more stable and even bring higher wages.
There’s plenty of evidence that moderate amounts of coffee can help you live longer, but it could also boost your fitness in the short term by improving your workouts. Neil Clarke explains how the drink can make exercise seem like it involves less effort and pain, helping you run faster, jump higher and lift more weight. But sadly not everyone will benefit in the same way.
All the best.
