2nd Grade eNews

Dear Parents,
Please don’t forget we are out of school Friday, March 17th. The following week will be our Spring Break - no school March 20th-24th. We will see the students again on Monday, March 27th.  Enjoy this time with your families! Please keep this newsletter. These will be all the things we will work on when we return after our break.

• Bible – We will be reviewing several Bible Stories. Our memory verse is: Matthew 9:36 “When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were weary and worn out, like sheep without a shepherd.”
• Reading – We will work on the skill of drawing conclusions. Our story will be “The Goat in the Rug.”
• Spelling – Words with the suffix ly or ful. The two review words use ed and ing. helpful   sadly   hopeful   thankful   slowly   wishful   kindly   useful   safely   painful   mouthful   weakly   quickly   wonderful  jumped   saying  
• Grammar – We will work with irregular verbs such as have, has, had and when to use them.
• Math – Review of carrying, borrowing, multiplication, word problems, three digit addition & subtraction, geometric shapes, identifying shape patterns, symmetrical figures, parallel and intersecting lines, and sides and corners, and fractions

• March 17th – NO SCHOOL
• March 20-24th – NO SCHOOL – SPRING BREAK
• March 27th – Back to school – Answers in Genesis in SEC @ 9:00
• March 30th – National Pencil Day – Dress up as a Career you would like to be
• April 3-7th – This will be the week of TN3 testing – we will test beginning at 8:15 a.m. until lunch time at 11:00 a.m.  Please do not schedule any doctor or dentist appointments during this week if at all possible. We do not make up tests.
• April 6th – Transition Meeting for 2nd going to 3rd in CMR with Mrs. Foley @ 11:30-12:00
• April 11th– Field trip to War Eagle Bat Caves – please read a separate email explaining this trip
• April 14th – Good Friday – NO SCHOOL – Please come to our Good Friday evening service at 7:00 p.m. in the Worship Center!
