iStart New Zealand

Hi there,

Kiwis have welcomed Level 3 restrictions this week with many getting back to work, albeit with strict rules still in play. But whole sectors remain in limbo, awaiting Level 2 before they can begin work, if at all.

Currently, any further freedoms are predicated around borders remaining closed and strict distancing protocols. Australia's relative freedoms, and news of their CovidSafe app being released, have seen frustrations voiced around our lack of progress with technology that might expedite New Zealand’s move back to more ‘normal’ business.

Any government contact tracing app remains elusive – and early indications are it will be of minimal use, initially doing no more than allowing us to provide the Ministry of Health with our contact details.

Local businesses, however, aren’t waiting around for government action and the focus is now turning to workforce contact tracing offerings.

In news this week:

  • PM's missteps with NZ’s 'contact tracing' app
  • Finding Covid value in data
  • Taking contact tracing to the workplace
  • How has DX changed under Covid?
  • Zoom + Otter = Zooming live transcription for videoconferencing service
  • The Covid-free weekly wrap

Enjoy the read and the fast food,
