BOFA Partners Screening of Tasmanian premieres of Dying to Live

KATE

BOFA is proud to present the Tasmanian premieres of Dying to Live, the vital new feature documentary from Richard Todd, award-winning director of 'Frackman' (BOFA 2015).

Dying to Live is a riveting film that examines life on the organ donation waiting list and how it feels when the only thing standing between you and certain death is the kindness of strangers. Australia has one of the lowest organ and tissue donation rates in the developed world; Richard Todd goes beyond the statistics and intimately focuses on the personal stories of courageous Australians awaiting transplants, and the extraordinary compassion of donor families.

  • Thursday 22/11/18 Hobart - Village Cinemas Hobart 6.30PM
  • Monday 26/11/18 Launceston - Village Cinemas Launceston 6:30PM
  • Monday 3/12/18 Devonport - CMAX Devonport 6:30PM

THE GUARDIAN: One of "Ten Australian films to watch in 2018"

FILM INQUIRY's critique: Richard Todd’s Dying to Live is a sincere portrait of the state of Australian organ donation, a weirdly taboo topic with the highest of stakes. Life and death hang in the balance as people, both the recipients and those around them, wait in suspense for that one call that may change all of their lives. The sympathetic approach to the often-painful stories is bound to affect any viewer, both young and old, and prompt them to start the chat; because as this film is keenly aware, every social movement starts with a simple conversation, and this time it can begin with this: what’s stopping you from becoming an organ donor?

Don't miss these very special screenings followed by community Q&A sessions in Launceston, Devonport and Hobart. As per the DemandFilm model, tickets must be reserved online prior to the screening in order for it to go ahead, so please secure your seats right away at https://au.demand.film/dying-to-live/  as the deadline for “go/no-go”  is looming.
