New from DrugInfo: Responding to the needs of children and parents in families experiencing alcohol and other drug problems

Responding to the needs of children and parents in families that are experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) problems can be difficult and provides a number of challenges.

As a result, there is a growing expectation that health and welfare services that provide AOD treatment and support to individuals, also consider and address broader family needs.

The May DrugInfo publications look at these issues.

Prevention Research Quarterly
This issue of Prevention Research Quarterly, by Stefan Gruenert and Menka Tsantefski examines the issue of problematic AOD misuse and the harm that it can cause others, in particular children. It also provides a number of case studies and a summary of current research.

DrugInfo newsletter
The latest issue of the DrugInfo newsletter focusses on children in families affected by substance misuse and provides a number of examples of service provision currently being implemented.
