I am so delighted that you are reading this first edition of EpiscoYouth Network News. Thank you for taking the time to read and learn how the Youth Ministries Office of The Episcopal Church might help strengthen your ministry with youth in your province, your diocese, and your congregation.

I offer special thanks to Olivia Adams (pictured bottom right) from the Diocese of Western Michigan for serving as our first guest columnist.

As stated in the Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” I believe we are in a season of change. Change brings with it resistance and fear of the unknown. Yet I believe change is also full of the Spirit. We must listen faithfully for God’s call to mission in the midst of our noisy landscape. News from the Network

How we communicate with one another is changing rapidly with technology. The body of Christ with its many parts has so much more potential for mission in the world than when we attempt to go it alone. Connect with your Provincial Network and make sure that our office has your contact information as well. The Formation and Vocation Ministries Team Associate, Valerie Harris, is the creator and keeper of our new diocesan database. Please email Valerie or Bronwyn and introduce yourself or your diocesan youth ministry contact.

Prayers

O God, in the course of this busy life, give us times of refreshment and peace; and grant that we may so use our leisure to rebuild our bodies and renew our minds, that our spirits may be opened to the goodness of your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
