PreK4 eNews

We had another wonderful week in PreK! We reviewed letters and letter/sounds and numbers to 10. Our rooms are beautifully decorated with Spring art! The children are so excited to share their creations and progress with you next week during Student Led Conferences. Teachers will be available in each classroom, but the children are ready to show you their work.

Continue to practice those Easter poems at home!  On March 16/17, each child will say the poem.  Teachers will select 3 children to, then, recite the poem in front of a small panel of judges.  This group of judges will choose one child from each class. We completely understand this can be a little intimidating for some children.  However, this is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience public speaking.  We strongly encourage you to work with your child at home on the poem.  We have found when they know the poem well, they are much more confident in reciting it in front of a group.

Next Week

  • Bible Verse: “God is love” 1 John 4:8
  • Bible:  Peter Walks on Water
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the letter “Ww” and the sound /w/ makes.
  • Math: #10, combining numbers, sets
  • Unit: Butterflies/Life cycle of butterflies
  • Show and Tell: Bring something that begins with the letter and sound of /w/
