Item 1: Reporting for nKPI, OSR and HCP

EXTENDED TO COB 22 AUGUST 2021

The reporting round for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander National Key Performance Indicators (nKPI), Online Service Report (OSR), and the Health Care Provider (HCP) number reports has been EXTENDED TO COB 22 AUGUST 2021.

For the organisations included in the Indigenous Australians’ Health Programme Primary Health Care Funding Model, it is recommended that, at a minimum, episodes of care and client number questions are completed, in the OSR Form, as these are key inputs to the funding model calculations.

In acknowledgement of the pressures the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have for services, the mandatory condition in the Indigenous Australians' Health Programme (IAHP) grant funding agreement will again be waived.

If your CEO decides your service will not report, please send an email to indigenousreporting@health.gov.au advising us of your decision.

Item 2: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services Data Advisory Group (HS DAG)

The Communique for the 30 July 2021 meeting of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services Data Advisory Group (HS DAG) will soon be available on the Department's HS DAG Communique's website. The meeting Communiques provide information to the sector on the outcomes of HS DAG meetings.

The HS DAG welcomes contributions from all health services and stakeholders, including clinical information system software vendors, through a submission process. Information about the HS DAG and details about how to contribute through the submission process is available on the HS DAG website.

Item 3: Consultation outcomes for three potential new indicators

The consultation process for Potential new National Key Performance Indicators for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care (nKPIs), is now CLOSED.

Thank you to the 47 organisations who took the time to participate in the consultation, and provide feedback.

The feedback will be synthesised into themes, and we hope to provide you with information shortly through the HS DAG Communique. We would like to reassure you that inclusion of the new indicators (if endorsed by HS DAG) will not increase reporting burden. The information required for these indicators is already collected in your clinical information system and will be automatically extracted.

The feedback will be provided to the HS DAG who will provide final endorsement (or not) of the indicators.

We plan to first pilot any new nKPIs with selected health services prior to full rollout to all health services and public data reporting.
