THE CLIENT
The Official Test Centre (OTC) is the World's first and only windsurfing test centre where windsurfers can test equipment from multiple brands in a completely objective environment.
Co-founded by Tris Best in Tenerife in 2006, the El Médano centre boasts a diverse range of conditions with consistent winds and warm water year-round. The OTC is now well established as a global testing hub for windsurfers, brands, and magazines alike.
In 2010, the OTC opened a second, UK based centre within the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA), the UK's most prominent watersports arena, and staging ground for the 2012 Olympic sailing events. |
THE CHALLENGE
The OTC challenged Brandwave to develop a new website to serve both centres, and integrate an innovative new system for equipment testing feedback. The website needed to serve as an online hub for all client enquiries, centre information, and multimedia access.
The OTC wanted to ensure that all new digital marketing tied in with their social media platforms and worked across a broad range of new hardware including smart phones and tablet devices.
The OTC also challenged Brandwave to develop a new bespoke video ident animation for all OTC multimedia footage. |
THE RESULT
The Brandwave team worked with the OTC to develop their new international website: www.otc-windsurf.com
The website was built in WordPress with an integrated content management system to ensure quick and easy updates to the site with multiple security access levels.
Key features of the new site include a live Twitter feed, bespoke events calendar, and a virtual tour of the El Médano centre.
As part of the project, Brandwave also developed a bespoke landing page, providing a signpost system for users to be directed to their desired location.
For the new OTC video ident, Brandwave used a combination of 3D and motion graphics effects software to produce an eye-catching logo animation that could be applied across all OTC video content. |
